Travel Program

About our Travel League

9U-14U Travel

Northwest Diamonds Traveling Program is more competitive than House ball and requires a larger commitment of time and effort. Traveling teams are formed through a try-out process that creates a minimum of two teams, which are tiered to form an "A" and "B" team. If there are both a sufficient number of interested players and talent, a third tier, or "C" team my be added. The NW Diamonds traveling season begins at the end of April and ends in July.  Traveling teams typically practice twice weekly and may play double header games 2 times a week.

Northwest Diamonds Travel teams play in the following two league:

*Suburban Travel League -

All participants at 10U, 12U & 14U will be playing in one of these leagues

Fees include:  League fee, Uniforms, Insurance, and Tournaments.  Each team will have a tournament cap that includes:  all gate fees for State Qualifier, State, and registration fees for approximately two tournaments.

2015 Travel League Fees:

9U & 10U - $250                                               11U, 12U, and 14U - $300

Volunteer Fee:

All travel players will be required to pay a volunteer fee of $150.  The volunteer fee must be in the form of a separate check from the Travel League Fee check and handed in before or at Tryouts!

We will sponsor softball tournaments during the summer.  At that time, everyone will have an opportunity to volunteer 4 hours of their time to help with the tournament.  Once your volunteer hours are met, your volunteer check will be returned to you.  If you do not volunteer, your check will be cashed.  To sign up for your volunteer hours, please go to the Volunteers page.

Practice will begin for most teams the first week of April.  Coaches will determine what night/s of the week to practice.  Games will begin the first week of May and run through the end of June.  Post season play will be posted after 2/9/15 league meeting.

Time Commitment

Inherent to the success of the NW Diamonds Traveling Program is the level of dedication and commitment of the participants. Participation in the NW Diamonds Traveling Program DOES REQUIRE A GREATER LEVEL OF COMMITMENT than the NW Diamonds House League. We strongly recommend both parents and potential players to consider their schedules and conflicts before trying out for traveling softball. If players and parents have a clear idea of the level of obligation the Traveling Program demands, and are able to plan ahead to meet those obligations, it alleviates the stress caused to both the player and the team when a player misses practices, games or even tournaments. Please keep in mind that attendance at practice is as important as tournament games.
